DO-IT Pals

Website

Overview

DO-IT Pals is an online community for middle and high school students with disabilities who are interested in pursuing college and careers. Hosted by the University of Washington’s DO-IT Center, the program connects youth with peers, mentors, and professionals—many of whom have disabilities themselves. Through email-based discussions and shared resources, DO-IT Pals fosters exploration of postsecondary education, career pathways, and self-advocacy.

Description

Families can use DO-IT Pals to help their child build confidence, develop communication skills, and gain exposure to college and career planning. Participants engage in conversations with DO-IT Scholars, Ambassadors, and Mentors, learning from real-life experiences and building a supportive network. The program is open to students nationally and serves as a stepping stone toward independence, inclusion, and lifelong learning.
